Luke's Place

Luke’s Place Youth provides young people in Cockatoo and the surrounding regions with an opportunity to come to safe and enjoyable space that is supported by St Luke’s.
We run Two Friday Night Youth Programs. For year 6-8 aged students, we have our ‘628’ program which runs from 6-8 pm on six different Friday nights of every school term. For year 9-12 students we have our ‘After Dark’ program which runs from 8:30-10:30pm on each of the nights after the 628 program. Our Friday Night youth events are full of energy and include many themed nights with activities that you won’t be able to participate in anywhere else!

Every Sunday night at Luke’s Place Youth we run a youth church service! From 5:30-6:30 we hang out in the church hall, eating food and playing various games. From 6:30-7:30 we have a church service where we worship God together and hear a gospel message and then we enjoy dinner together in the hall from 7:30-8pm for a small cost.

At Luke’s Place we love meeting new people, sharing the gospel and having extraordinary amounts of fun participating in games, themed nights and big events!

If you have any questions about Luke’s Place, please don’t hesitate to contact the youth Pastor Caleb Lobbe on 0457265218.

Kids Church/Creche

Kid’s Church – Kid’s Church runs every Sunday morning at the same time as our 10am morning church service. It is for Primary aged children and has a great blend of teaching the truth and stories from the Bible, as well as interactive games and craft designed to help teach children the amazing life they have while following Jesus Christ. Led by a wonderful team of volunteers, the Kids Church is an integral part of who we are at St Luke’s.

Kmotion is an After School Program that runs on a Thursday afternoon straight after school until 5.30pm. With well over 60 children attending each week, this program has a high emphasis on fun and letting your hair down after school. It provides a safe, well programmed afternoon with games, afternoon tea and heaps of other fun activities with a bunch of both adult leaders and some trainee teenage leaders. It is for primary aged children and all are welcome to come and join the craziness!

Run every Tuesday and Wednesday morning during school terms, Playgroups (called ‘Jitterbugs’ here at St Luke’s) play a very significant role within our town. Playgroups provide a great place for socialisation for the children (0 – Kinder age) and also a great outlet for parents to meet each other, compare notes on parenting and just relax. With an excellent team that facilitates the programs each week, coupled with great indoor and outdoor facilities, playgroups continue to be a key part of the life of our church.

2XL is an award winning mentoring program that is funded by the Federal Government under the auspices of Anglicare Australia. Around 20 children from the local primary school with differing needs are chosen to participate. These children are matched with local Adult mentors (who undergo training), and these pairs meet with each other once a week (just after Kmotion) and spend an hour working on a project together on site at St Luke’s. Each week, a meal is then provided for all the families of the mentees. It is always a powerful time and the energy and noise in the Hall with around 80 people each week is great fun. It is a program that involves 30 local volunteers every week and reflects the heart of our mission here at St Luke’s.
