Hello St Luke’s
I’ve been thinking lately a lot about relationships.
In the past few months, I have come to you as your priest. I have also moved into a new home in a new area of Melbourne. I have met many new people and have made many new friends and relationships. This has been a wonderful, exciting, and sometimes even overwhelming experience.
I have made many new relationships and it got me thinking about how we as God’s people make grow and keep relationships. We all have our good days and our bad days, but how do we nurture our relationships?
The Apostle Paul in his letter to the Colossians has some useful help for us. As I read this, I am encouraged to make forgiveness and love my goal for all of my relationships. Let me encourage you to make it yours as well
12 As God’s Chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. 13 Bear with one another and if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other, just as the LORD has forgiven you, so you must also forgive. 14 Above all, clothe yourself with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:12-14 NRSV
